Magnesia partially stabilied zirconia Mg-PSZ ceramics

Magnesia partially stabilized zirconia ceramics, also known as Mg-PSZ ceramics, are a type of ceramic material that is composed of partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) with the addition of magnesia (MgO).    Zirconia (ZrO2) is a ceramic material that has excellent mechanical properties, such as high strength and hardness, as well as good resistance to wear and corrosion. However, pure zirconia is prone to cracking and low-temperature degradation. To overcome these limitations, zirconia can be partially stabilized by adding certain dopants, such as yttria (Y2O3), calcia (CaO), or magnesia (MgO).    Magnesia partially stabilized zirconia ceramics have a microstructure consisting of small, well-dispersed zirconia grains embedded in a magnesia matrix. The addition of magnesia helps to improve the stability and toughness of the material, making it more resistant to cracking and low-temperature degradation. This makes Mg-PSZ cerami…
